Terry O'Reilly and Clark Gillies went at it two times during a 5-3 Bruins loss to the Islanders on 4/19/1980. These fights were vicious. 🏒On January 9, 1979 the Boston Bruins retired Bobby Orr’s number 4 jersey. At the ceremony, the crowd at Boston Garden would not stop applauding and as a result, most of the evening's program had to be scrapped at the last second due to the constant cheering. The crowd did not allow Orr to say his thank you speech until he put on a Bruins jersey. The day was proclaimed "Bobby Orr Day" in Boston and the event raised thousands of dollars for charity.
