Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet (P2Y12 inhibitor) used to prevent blood clots. Maintenance dose is 75 mg daily. It is an inactive compound that requires an enzyme called CYP2C19 to activate it by metabolism, therefore patients who lack this enzyme may have decreased efficacy.
