Vermont residency is required upon graduation from the academy. A birth certificate, Social Security card, or other documentation showing your authorization to work in the United States.

Effective July 2024, the salary for a newly hired trooper is $71,108.30. After six months, the salary increases to $74,672.50 and with the completion of probation at the end of the first year, the salary will be $77,634.30.
