The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations (UN). It was established in June 1945 by the Charter of the United Nations and began work in April 1946. The seat of the Court is at the Peace Palace in The Hague (Netherlands).

What differentiates the International Court of Justice from the International Criminal Court and the ad hoc international criminal tribunals? The International Court of Justice has no jurisdiction to try individuals accused of war crimes or crimes against humanity.
Visits - International Court of Justice
The Information Department can, moreover, provide briefings on the Court to visiting groups upon prior request. Those wishing to do a guided tour of the Peace Palace and visit its museum, or to carry out research at the Peace Palace Library should contact the Carnegie Foundation directly.
Internships - International Court of Justice
The International Court of Justice offers internships to students and young professionals who are in the early stages of their careers. The internship is an opportunity for them to put their knowledge and experience into practice, while performing certain tasks for the Court under the supervision of Registry officials.
STATUTE - International Court of Justice
The International Court of Justice established by the Charter of the United Nations as the principal judicial organ of the United Nations shall be constituted and shall function in accordance with the provisions of the present Statute.
