The charging system for the Pencil has had to be relocated - as the iPad mini's front camera now occupies the internal cavity that was previously used for the second generation Pencil's inductive charging system.

Nov 2, 2016 · Hey guys, I have an iPad Mini 1 that is running iOS 9.3.5, and it is so slow and almost useable. Everything lags on it (apps, web browsing, even texting) and it's literally faster to get up and boot up my MacBook or fetch my iPhone. So my question is, what's the optimal iOS to use on the iPad Mini 1 so that it runs at a useable rate? Thanks, Jon

Jun 18, 2020 · Hello, I have the iPad 1st gen and it works perfectly fine. I do not really reccomend to use it but you can download some apps like Spotify that you can download a older version and it can sync with iCloud and iTunes (iCloud only works on if your iPad 1st gen is on iOS 5 or above, the limit the iPad can run is iOS 5.1.1).

May 12, 2020 · A 1st gen iPad Mini cannot be upgraded beyond iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6. A 1st gen iPad Mini is an OVER 7-1/2-year old device, now! These older iPad models are too old, now, underpowered and completely incompatible with any of the current and future versions of iOS/iPadOS. It is what it is, today, in the year 2020!

Apr 18, 2016 · If you are willing to do this (I, personally, wouldn't recommend this), some users have reported that turning off Find My Phone/iPad, in Settings App under iCloud, has improved iOS performance, although I don't how this feature could be causing such a performance slowdown, unless its a bug in iOS that is only affecting some iPad users.

Apple and virtually all third party apps developers have removed all older iOS 10 and earlier older apps from the Apple iOS App Store/App Store servers. It has been this way for the past two years, or so. There is NO WAY to get older apps for any 8, 9 or 10-year old iPads any longer. Sorry.
