The Met Office has issued an amber weather alert warning ahead of snow and freezing rain that are set to cause hazardous travel conditions and potential power cuts

An amber warning for snow and ice has now been issued for North Wales over the weekend. The Met Office warning comes into effect at 6pm on Saturday and lasts until 12pm on Sunday, covering Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy and Gwynedd.

The Met Office has announced an Amber snow and ice alert for East Midlands, North East England, North West England, West Midlands and Yorkshire and Humber across the UK for Saturday and Sunday. Snow will blanket the region. The wintry showers are predicted to arrive across the areas on Saturday at around 9pm, and it will persist until Sunday 11pm.
