The community gathered on Monday to honor the life of a St. Paul police officer who died nearly 15 years after suffering injuries in the line of duty.

Felicia Reilly, the retired St. Paul police officer who died this month after battling for 15 years with the aftermath of an attack on the job in 2010, was laid to rest on Monday. Hundreds gathered at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church to honor retired Saint Paul Police Officer Felicia Reilly, who died after 15 years of battling her injuries.

Reilly died last weekend at the age of 67 — 15 years after suffering a traumatic brain injury when she was attacked while on duty. Reilly’s family said her death was due to injuries stemming from that assault.
