Rain showers are expected to begin in the early afternoon, moving from west to east across the state. Most of Massachusetts, including Boston, Worcester and Western Massachusetts, can expect to see rain the rest of the day as temperatures are forecast to reach the low 40s. The Berkshires could experience a mix of rain and light snow.

An EXTREME COLD WATCH will be in effect for all of Northeast Ohio from Sunday night through Wednesday morning. An already active winter is about to shift into overdrive as a trio of storms over the weekend and into next week deliver snow to the Midwest, East and possibly as far south as the Gulf Coast.

A report from the NWS Blacksburg VA on Saturday at 5:08 a.m. is warning residents of rain until 8 a.m. The alert is for Ashe, Alleghany, Surry, Stokes, Rockingham, Caswell, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin counties.

The First Alert Weather Team regards widespread moderate to heavy rain that is ongoing this morning. Most areas have received 1-2” of rain overnight with an additional 1-2” to come today. Rain will slowly exit southeast of the viewing area by the early to middle afternoon.
