A man "hellbent" on creating carnage drove around barricades and hurtled down Bourbon Street in New Orleans' French Quarter, police said.

The Texas man who police suspect of killing at least 10 people celebrating New Year’s in New Orleans and injuring dozens more is an Army veteran who has worked in real estate and IT and said in court documents that he struggled with financial troubles in recent years.

Multiple people have been killed near the intersection of Bourbon Street and Iberville Street. The New Orleans Police Department says “a car may have plowed into a group of people.”
