Connor McDavid scored in the second period and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Kings 1-0 on Monday night for their second straight win. Stuart Skinner stopped 31 shots to earn his second shutout of the season and sixth of his career as the Oilers won for the sixth time in seven games to move ahead of the Kings into second place in the Pacific Division.

Darcy Kuemper has 29 saves for the Kings, but Connor McDavid scores in the second period and Stuart Skinner stops 30 shots as Edmonton takes the Pacific Division showdown, 1-0.

The Oilers needed Skinner to be at his best in the first period, getting blitzed to the tune of a 14-6 shot differential after 20 minutes. But they rebounded in the second period,

The Los Angeles Kings continued their road trip with a stop in Edmonton to play the Oilers on Monday night (Jan. 13) in a huge divisional contest. This game was very sloppy throughout, with an abundance of missed passes which led to a lot of offsides and whistles.
