Warm and breezy week ahead for North Texas with isolated storms and elevated fire danger
After a cold weekend in North Texas, above-average temperatures are settling in for the workweek. Temperatures were 5-10 degrees above average on Monday, and the warming trend is expected to continue throughout the week.
North Texas, Central Texas to see increased wildfire risk this week
While the cold winter air should depart much of Texas this week, a newer, drier concern could impact heavily populated parts of the state. Forecasters with the National Weather Service across both Austin and the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex say low humidity and breezier winds may create the perfect cocktail for wildfires to spark and spread starting early in the week.

North Texas will deal with storms and fire danger this week. Much of North and Central Texas will see elevated to critical fire threats from Tuesday, March 11, through Friday, March 14, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth.
Midlothian man killed and at least four injured during severe North Texas storms
One person has died and at least four others were injured when severe storms rolled through North Texas on Saturday morning, officials said. According to the Ennis Police Department, a 42-year-old man from Midlothian was killed when Ennis "experienced a severe weather incident this morning."
Elevated fire threat in parts of North Texas this week
