Newcastle Falcons lock John Hawkins has signed a new one-year deal. The 28-year-old joined the Premiership side from Jersey Reds in October 2023 and has made 32 appearances for the club. Hawkins is the fourth player in as many days to sign a new deal with the Falcons, after Ollie Fletcher, Max Clark and Ollie Leatherbarrow.

Newcastle have made an offer for an initial loan with an option to buy. Talks are ongoing between clubs but there is no agreement as yet.

According to a report from transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško has reached an agreement Newcastle United on personal terms. The two clubs, however, would need to come to accord on a transfer fee: Benjamin #Sesko has an agreement in principle with #Newcastle for a contract until 2030.
