First baseman Jared Jones blasted two homers and collected five RBI Wednesday night as top-ranked LSU defeated North Dakota State, 13-3, in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. The game was halted after the top of the seventh inning due to the 10-run rule.

LSU junior right-handed pitcher Gavin Guidry will "probably" be unavailable to pitch this weekend, coach Jay Johnson said Wednesday. Guidry has been dealing with a mid-body injury that has kept him out the past two weekends. He has not to pitched yet this season.

LSU wrapped up their two-game midweek series against NDSU on Wednesday night. The Bison gave the Tigers a scare on Tuesday, jumping out to a 7-1 lead early before the Tigers rallied and came from behind to win. Tonight, things were a bit easier for the Tigers.

Shortstop Steven Milam lined a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning Tuesday night to break a 9-9 tie and lift top-ranked LSU to an 11-9 win over North Dakota State in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: LSU will likely start freshman right-hander William Schmidt after he started a midweek game last Monday against Nicholls State. North Dakota State is still searching for its second win after it led until the sixth inning on Tuesday.

LSU baseball fell behind in the early going against North Dakota State Tuesday night at Alex Box Stadium but it rallied late.

To start the bottom of the ninth, Tanner Reaves pinch hit for Michael Braswell III and started LSU off with a single. Jake Brown followed that with a double and the Tigers had runners on second and third with no outs. Ryan Costello then pinch-hit and walked to load the bases.
