House Republicans are hoping to vote Tuesday on a stopgap bill aimed at funding the federal government through September 30 and preventing a shutdown after Friday.

The Republicans who control the U.S. House of Representatives plan to vote on Tuesday on a six-month stopgap funding bill to fund the government through September 30, when the current 2025 fiscal year ends.

After meeting with his conference, the Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said "Republicans do not have the votes" to advance the House-approved measure.
