On Thursday, as their agency worked to investigate a catastrophic plane crash between an American Airlines jet and an Army helicopter outside of Washington, employees of the Federal Aviation Administration were reportedly among government workers who got an email encouraging them to quit and find a “higher productivity” job.

President Donald Trump at a press conference on Wednesday said he is going to require federal employees who work at home to show up to work or be terminated. The president also addressed his proposal to offer payouts to government employees to quit their jobs.

Federal employees received an email from the government’s personnel office urging them to find “higher productivity” jobs in the private sector and answering what they called top questions about the Trump administration’s sweeping effort to eliminate government jobs.
