British interest in the Wimbledon singles events is over for another year after Cameron Norrie found the defending champion in an unforgiving mood during this 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 thrashing.

Cameron Norrie has issued a response after being accused of ‘weird’ behaviour during his Wimbledon quarter-final defeat to Carlos Alcaraz. Norrie was beaten in straight sets by the defending champion on Tuesday, ending British hopes in the singles, with Alcaraz easily winning 6-2 6-3 6-3.

Norrie won their last meeting on the clay of Rio de Janeiro two years ago, when Alcaraz was just a teenager. Now, this lad from Murcia in southeastern Spain is looking to add his name to the honours board at the All England Club for the third time, aged just 23. Only a fool would bet against him at this juncture.
