Gates, who caught 116 touchdown passes in a 16-year career spent entirely with the Chargers, is elected alongside defensive end Jared Allen, wide receiver Sterling Sharpe and cornerback Eric Allen.

CB Eric Allen, DE Jared Allen, TE Antonio Gates and WR Sterling Sharpe are the newest members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. They will be inducted Aug. 2 in Canton, Ohio.

Antonio Gates has been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025, becoming the second Kent State alumnus to receive the honor.
