The Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (0-0-1) battled back to earn a 1-1 road draw to open the USL Championship regular season against North Carolina FC (0-0-1) at WakeMed Park in Cary, NC on Saturday night. Bill Belichick is the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels’ football team, but he apparently was not their first choice for the job. ESPN published a story on Friday detailing how Belichick became UNC’s football coach.

Smith had two head coach interviews, one with the New York Jets and another with the Chicago Bears, in the NFL this offseason, but did not land either job. He is now set to return as offensive coordinator for the Steelers in his second season.
