When asked about Bosa’s cap hit and future with the team, general manager Joe Hortiz said, “Those are the things we’re discussing right now.” Hortiz added that it is “possible” they keep him on his current cap hit.
The Chargers now enter the 2025 offseason with more than $60 million of projected cap space, a figure that could be even higher if the Bolts make a handful of other roster moves such as releasing certain players early from their contracts.
Bosa finished the 2024 regular season with 5.0 sacks among his 22 tackles (17 solo) in 14 appearances (nine starts). Bosa's days as a dominant pass rusher appear to be behind him, as he has just 14.0 sacks over the past three regular seasons while being limited to 28 appearances over that span.
We are at that point of the year when the offseason rumor mill gets fired up. The Chargers have a huge few months ahead of them to try and improve this roster to become legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
The good news is that Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack isn't retiring. The bad news is that he's a free agent. Is it time to move on?
