Netflix said viewers from over 200 countries tuned into the Steelers-Chiefs game on Christmas and nearly 1/3 of all active Netflix viewers globally were watching the game.

It has finally happened: Netflix now has live football. Announced earlier this year, Christmas Day marks the beginning of the NFL's expansion onto the popular streaming service, with two games on tap for this year: the Chiefs and Steelers in the opener at 1 p.m. ET, followed by the Ravens and Texans in the day's second game at 4:30 p.m. ET.

NFL game streamed on Netflix is already reporting big numbers. According to sports business reporter Joe Pompliano, more than 200 countries tuned in to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers player the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday afternoon.
