Thousands Gather to Mourn Didarul Islam, Officer Slain in Midtown Shooting
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said Officer Islam, who was killed in Monday’s massacre, had been posthumously promoted to detective first grade. Mayor Eric Adams was among the other speakers at a service held at a mosque in the Bronx.
