Since the start of the protests, the Los Angeles Police Department has arrested 385 people, USA Today reported on Wednesday.

House Oversight Chair James Comer requested in April that these Democratic governors testify, claiming that the "Trump administration is taking decisive action to deport criminal illegal aliens from our nation, but reckless sanctuary states like Illinois, Minnesota, and New York are actively seeking to obstruct federal immigration enforcement."

Amid unrest in California, Republicans plan to press the governors of other blue states on their immigration policies, including on limiting cooperation with federal enforcement efforts.

At a time when massive protests have rocked California, anti-Trump protesters have been planning protests in nearly 2000 locations in the US. The protests have been organized by pro-democracy groups and progressive groups to protests against the policies of Trump.

The curfew went into effect in part of downtown Los Angeles amid ongoing protests over the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.
