The National Hurricane Center is monitoring Tropical Storm Gabrielle, which could become a hurricane, and two other disturbances for potential tropical development in the Atlantic.

Tropical Storm Gabrielle formed Wednesday in the Atlantic Ocean but was far from land, forecasters said.

It is forecast to become a hurricane Sunday afternoon.
