This Friday is “potentially the worst” day for early Thanksgiving travel, according to the Weather Channel. The Gulf Coast could experience some potential storms, while the Mississippi and Ohio valleys, as well as the Central Plains, could see heavy rainfall. The central Rockies could also see some lingering snow.

Due to a lack of early snowfall, Mt. Bachelor has postponed their opening day. The resort says to open they typically need a base of 24”…. so we’re not quite there yet. We're expecting mountain snow/rain to return on Sunday.
The Sierra Nevada, including the Lake Tahoe region, has received heavy amounts of snowfall recently, the UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Laboratory reported. As of Thursday, Nov. 20, the laboratory at Donner Pass had received 11.6 inches of snow over the past seven days.
Residents in northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula can expect rain and snow to develop late on Saturday, Nov. 22.

Accumulating snow or a wintry mix begins around daybreak Tuesday, then continues until the evening. We’ll generally see a quarter to half inch of snow or ice pellets (locally higher up to 1 inch is possible) for areas near I-96 and portions of I-94.
