DALLAS — Today, in 1964, the three-engined Boeing 727 entered service with launch customer Eastern Air Lines (EA), one of the "Big Four" domestic airlines created by the Spoils Conferences of 1930.

Entering Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) service in 2003 after ten years with Dutch airline Transavia, the air arm's two Boeing 757-200s replaced two Boeing 727s which had served since the 1980s.
