Week 18 provided its annual reminder that the motivations of professional football players need not be dissected. It does not matter if a loss means their team will draft first or a victory means their season will survive.

The NFC South was one of three division titles up for grabs entering Week 18. As a result of the early afternoon games Sunday, a division winner has been awarded. The Buccaneers and the Falcons were the final two teams still alive in the NFC playoff picture but yet to clinch a spot.
