A Red Flag Warning​ is back in effect for much of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, as the fire threat remains high.

As efforts to battle a wildfire on the New Jersey/New York border continue, much of southern New York is now under a red flag warning, pointing to a heightened risk of additional fires. The Jennings Creek Wildfire has burned through thousands of acres in northern New Jersey and New York's Orange County,

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for parts of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey, and southeast New York.

As the drought continues, Red Flag Warnings are in place in parts of New Jersey. The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning for Northeastern parts of New Jersey, specifically in the counties bordering New York City.
