Home to approximately 7,000 Palestinians and several hundred Israeli settlers, the H2 neighbourhood of Hebron is ruled by strict movement regulations, systemic closures, and continuous violence.

Israeli troops arrested two Palestinians during raids on the West Bank and searched several houses in the vicinity of Hebron, the Palestinian news agency reported.

Militant groups have grown in strength in Jenin, where Israel estimates almost half the population is affiliated to Islamic Jihad or Hamas.
