To be considered for the fall semester, students must fill out the application by July 21. Students are to be notified within 24 to 48 hours about their Excelsior awards.

But only 3.2 percent of students are taking advantage of it. As 7 Eyewitness News senior reporter Eileen Buckley tells us, the application window for the fall is now open.

The Excelsior Scholarship program is for students from families earning less than $100,000. The free tuition is for undergrads in a SUNY or CUNY school.
