The Denver Broncos selected 1,800-yard Washington running back Jonah Coleman in the 4th round (No. 108 overall) of the 2026 NFL draft.
That area is pass protection, and Coleman’s process with the Broncos took him back to his initial year with Arizona, when he had to compete with a pair of seniors just to get on the field and then-running backs coach Scottie Graham gave him some advice.
If the Broncos can make this one adjustment, Jonah Coleman will be a big hit in Denver.
The Broncos also listed Coleman at 5-foot-8 and 220 pounds on his team profile, a compact frame that matches the physical identity Payton emphasized. Coleman was a two-time All-Big Ten honorable mention selection and rushed for 758 yards and 15 touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry in 12 games in 2025, according to the team’s announcement.
We’re trying to find — who’s the best runner, and does it fit us? We felt strongly it did with him,” Head Coach Sean Payton said.
Jonah Coleman rushed for 1,811 yards, 25 touchdowns with 54 catches combined in two seasons combined at Washington.
As the NFL draft draws closer, a second-round running back has been connected to the Broncos.
