Variety has learned that Punkie Johnson (“SNL,” “Bottoms”), Brett Gray (“On My Block,” “Star Trek: Prodigy”), Roy Wood Jr. (“The Daily Show,” “Confess, Fletch”), and E.J. Bonilla (“The Old Man,” “Gemini Man”) have all joined the comedy show in series regular roles.

While they’re well known for high-concept fantasy shows like The Rings of Power or insightful comedies like Fleabag, Amazon Prime Video has really been ramping up its reality TV efforts in the past few years.

Fans of Critical Role are eating good, as the latest Dungeons & Dragons animated show has reached top spots and top honors on Amazon Prime and Rotten Tomatoes.

Prime Video already offers AI-generated text recaps of TV shows. Now Amazon is using AI to add sight, sound and motion to the mix. The company on Wednesday is launching Video Recaps on Prime Video, which Amazon says provide “comprehensive season recaps” to bring viewers up to speed on select shows.

The service, Video Recaps, uses generative artificial intelligence for Prime Video to get better at “Previously On…” summaries to allow viewers to jump back in between seasons.

According to Amazon, the feature "utilizes generative AI to create theatrical-quality season recaps with synchronized narration, dialogue, and music."

With Sophie Turner already confirmed to play Lara Croft, the other castmembers of Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming “Tomb Raider” live-action series are slowly being assembled as production gears up to start in January.
