Australia has a new UFC champion in Jack Della Maddalena. Della Maddalena put in a fantastic performance in the main event of UFC 315, outworking Belal Muhammad to win the UFC welterweight championship.

Jack Della Maddalena is the new UFC welterweight champion after beating Belal Muhammad in a sensational war of attrition at UFC 315 on Saturday night in Montreal.

Muhammad leaves Montreal without the title he won in July by defeating Leon Edwards at UFC 304. The result also marked Muhammad's first loss since a unanimous decision against Geoff Neal in January 2019, ending a 10-fight winning streak, which also included a no contest against Edwards.
