The Miami Heat have suspended Jimmy Butler for seven games and say they will seek to trade him. The Heat say the suspension was for “conduct detrimental to the team over the course of the season and particularly the last several weeks.

Two straight games of low rebounding numbers, single-digit points and limited shot attempts led to this exchange between Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press and Butler following the double-digit loss to Indiana.

Jimmy Butler has been making some pretty thinly veiled comments of late about his desire to traded from the Miami Heat, but now he's made it official. Shams Charania and Brian Windhorst of ESPN report that Butler has "indicated to the Heat he wants the team to trade him" and that he is "open to playing anywhere other than Miami.
