The Patriots’ offense took a major step back against the Chargers in Week 18. There wasn’t much good to take away from the team scoring only seven points and 181 total yards at Gillette Stadium. However, wideout Demario Douglas came down with a huge touchdown catch, and the offensive line has seen worse days.

One positive to close it out: It was nice to see safeties Dell Pettus, Jalynn Hawkins and Marte Mapu have an extended hour-plus heart-to-heart in the locker room after Saturday’s loss. It was also nice to see Wise, a defensive captain, sit down to have a chat with Polk after the game.

The New England Patriots were simply putrid on Saturday as the Los Angeles Chargers humiliated them, 40-7, at Gillette Stadium.
