A little-known University of Georgia football player accidentally stepped into the limelight Thursday, costing his team 15 valuable yards and earning a permanent spot in social media infamy.

When Georgia redshirt sophomore Parker Jones arrived to the Superdome on Thursday, you just know he never expected to have the spotlight on him in the game. After all, the walk-on defensive back wasn't even suited up for the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart called a sideline interference penalty early in Thursday’s Sugar Bowl loss to Notre Dame “very unfortunate.” Arian Smith converted a 67-yard catch and run in the second quarter in a 23-10 loss to the Irish, but Georgia walk-on Parker Jones collided with an official on the sideline, resulting in a 15-yard penalty.
