Pune/IBNS: The Ernst & Young India has responded after a 26-year-old employee in Pune died due to "work stress" as claimed by her family, media reports said.

After allegations about exploitative work conditions took X (formerly Twitter) by storm due to the report of a young Pune-based Ernst & Young (EY) employee’s death, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has assured a thorough investigation.

This came in response to allegations by a parent of an employee of the accounting firm that their daughter had died in July due to work-related stress.

Anna Sebastian Perayil, the EY Pune CA from Kerala, lost her life, with her mother alleging that it was due to office stress and overwork.

Experts say early warning signs include constant exhaustion and poor work-life balance, stressing the need for early action to prevent severe burnout
