Several cold weather shelters are opening their doors this week in Escambia County as a cold weather advisory is in effect. The National Weather Service of Mobile issued a cold weather advisory to begin Monday night through mid-morning on Tuesday.

During his weekly news conference, he announced that as of 2:30 Monday afternoon, the Shepherd’s Gym is open to anyone in need of a warm place to stay. It’s located at 1355 Hattiesburg Street near Jim Hill High School.
