There’s growing concern for another significant rain and flooding event this week, this time along the Gulf Coast, from what could become the Atlantic basin’s next tropical system.

Millions of people along the U.S. Gulf Coast are under a risk for flash flooding to end the week as a moisture-packed tropical disturbance moves over the region. Portions of Florida saw more than 150 mm of rain from this system as it moved west across the state.

A tropical system near Florida is expected to move into the Gulf, bringing rain and potential flooding to Houston and the Gulf Coast. KPRC 2’s meteorologist explains what to expect as the week unfolds.
