Author Andrea Gibson, best known for their spoken word poetry and LGBTQ activism, died after a four-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Andrea Gibson, a poet, activist and Colorado Laureate who was the subject of documentary film "Come See Me in the Good Light," has died at 49.

Andrea Gibson, a spoken-word poet and queer activist, has died. She was 49 years old. Gibson died Monday morning in their Boulder, Colorado home from ovarian cancer. Gibson was diagnosed with in 2021.
