It is not just a drive by tour - you do get off the bus and the guide explains and gives info re different sites etc.- not heavy on detail, but interesting. The tour does not include entry to any paid sights such as those you mention. It is a bit like an upmarket Hop on Hop off bus ride. For what it cost we thought it was good value as it gave you a good idea of the layout of NYC. Empire State Building we visited and bought our tickets on the spot. Given we were there in late Jan there were next to no crowds/queue especially if you got out early. However weekends were the exception and if the weather is wet/snowy. We also bought all our theatre tickets at Half Price tix in Times Square or direct from the theatre and got good seats at reasonable prices - we did not do A reserve - set ourselves a limit e.g. $50- 100 and then got best seats. Hope this helps and have a great time. NYC is fantastic fun.
