We saw 160 penguins. Tour was great! Guides were very friendly and professional. You can buy hot drinks and cutest penguin souvenir! Full review by IdaL1214

An amazing opportunity to see New Zealand’s Blue Penguins with a very knowledgable and friendly set of guides. Respectful for the animals whilst getting a great view. Would recommend to anybody. Full review by poppyb42

I read from another source that the birds leave their nests early at dawn to go into the ocean.
